When it comes to soups tomato is on the top list and people may agree with me in this regards. I have hardly found anybody saying that i don't like it or i can't have it. Before preparing this soup i wanted to make traditional tomato soup only, but after seeing a bundle of lettuce leafs in my fridge i could not resist to add in. As there was no other way to finish it. Also i wanted to give a twist to the old taste of tomato soup. So went ahead and experimented with it and my husband could not even recognise what all was there in. This is the best way in which we can mix a lot of healthy ingredients which people in there normal life are reluctant to have it. With this recipe you can serve four people. Cooking time was 10 Min's and preparation time was 5 minutes so total time 15 minutes.

So lets get started and look at the ingredients used:-
Tomato and lettuce leaf soup

  1. Tomatoes 4 large
  2. Lettuce leaf 5-6 large leafs
  3. Ginger 1 inch finely chopped
  4. Garlic 2-3 pods
  5. Cumin seeds/ jeera 1 tsp
  6. Onion 1/2 finely chopped
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Black pepper as per taste
  9. Olive oil 1 tbsp
  10. Water for consistency




looking at the step by step process:-

First of all take a pan and heat the oil. Then add cumin seeds, after that onion, ginger and garlic which were finely chopped, saute them till they turn golden brown in colour.


After that add chopped tomatoes, also add little salt as it help in making them tender a bit fast.


Then add the lettuce leafs and also toss them a little so they also become tender. After all the ingredients have well combined then using a blender or a mixer, mix them to form a smooth paste. Add water to adjust the consistency.


Lastly heat the soup for a while till it comes to a boil and sprinkle some black pepper and salt according to taste and enjoy them with the soup sticks or as it is before dinner.
