Whenever i prepare these toast or bread pizza i go back in nostalgia of my old naughty days with my cousin sis Rashmi. Yes she was the one who use to prepare it for us and we use to enjoy it with a huge glass of cold coffee. We use to call it rock toast but i don't think you can find this name on any menu card, atleast i haven't so far. So i have given it an alternate name of bread pizza as it tastes quite similar to one. One can also call it a poor man pizza as very few ingredients are required for it and there is no need of oven or a microwave to cook it. This recipe can be served as a snack during tea time or it can be taken as a breakfast. The measurements below makes about 7-8 slices of toast.

List of ingredients used are:-
Bread pizza
  1. Semolina/ Suji 1 cup
  2. Curd 1/2 cup
  3. Salt1 tbsp
  4. Red chili powder 1/2 tbsp
  5. Oregano 1 tbsp
  6. Capsicum 1/2
  7. Tomato 1
  8. Onion 1
  9. Bread slices
  10. Nonstick pan
  11. Oil 1 tbsp
  12. Water as per requirement

Step by step process:-
First of all finely chop all the vegetables and keep aside. Then take suji/semolina and mix all the spices(salt, chili & oregano), also mix in the curd and the chopped vegetables. One can add little water if required to make a smooth paste. The batter looks as in the pic below. Cover the mixture and keep aside for about 15-20 minutes. Suji have tendency to absorb water so after some time the mixture will become thick. One needs to add a little more water to maintain its smooth, paste like consistency.

After that take bread slices and using a spoon scoop out the mixture and spread it evenly on one side of the bread as shown below. One must keep in mind that vegetables must be fine so that they don't come out of the mixture, rather they become a part of it.

Then take a nonstick pan and spread some oil, keeping the stove on medium flame. Firstly cook the toast on the side coated with mixture. It takes about 8-10 minutes to cook properly and then turn the other side. The side with mixture looks as in the pic below, the colour will change from white to light brown and vegetables also have a crusty layer over them.

These toasts are really crunchy and before serving sprinkle some oregano over it which gives them a flavour of pizza. Enjoy them hot with your favourite drink. Also try out this one for kids tiffin, hope they like this one.
